Option 3: Featured Listing: OUR BEST VALUE! - Includes all the features of Option 1 and Option 2 - and adds your business to the top of every topic category page in the BerkshireBusiness.Org Business Directory as a Featured Listing. Additional Categories: Additional directory categories are allowed. To add your site to more than one category, please submit each separately. Tip: Alter each description to best fit the category in which you're advertising.

No Business Website?: If your business does not have a business website, you can still place your listing in the BerkshireBusiness.Org Directory. For a small fee, our staff will create and host a one-page web site on our servers. Your one-page listing can include one or two paragraphs of information about your business, up to two photos and directions to your place of business and contact information. ( Your web address will look similar to the following example: www.berkshirebusiness.org/yourbusiness ). Set-up fee and first year hosting: $160 (Directory Listing Fees are additional and depend on your choice of options) / Hosting fees for year 2 and beyond: $60 - Site changes after initial set-up are billed at $50 per hour in 30 minute increments. Frequently Asked Questions

To add your Business Listing to the BerkshireBusiness Directory:

Step 1) Click the "ADD YOUR LISTING" link below.

Step 2) Complete all required fields of the Directory Listing Form. Be sure to enter a VALID email address. You must have an email address in order to receive instructions for payment and your account information.

Step 3) After submitting the form, you will receive your confirmation, account information and payment instructions by email. Please visit the secure online payment center link that is included on that email. Your link will appear within the Business Directory shortly after your payment has been noted.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long after paying online will it take for my listing to appear?: New listings are first reviewed by our editors to ensure that they meet our advertising guidelines (see below). Once reviewed and approved, your listing will appear within the BerkshireBusiness.Org Business Directory at the next server update (usually within 4 - 8 hours of approval).

Will I be notified when my listing is active?: You will receive notice by email upon approval of your listing. As stated above, once reviewed and approved, your listing will appear within the BerkshireBusiness.Org Business Directory at the next server update (usually within 4 - 8 hours of approval).

What type of information can I place in my business description?: We currently allow up to 500 characters (approximately 125 words) for business descriptions. Use your description to promote your business in general or to highlight individual products. Remember, you're able to update or change your description and/or title whenever and as often as you like using our password-protected online account management system. Advertise special promotions, sales, etc. Please always try to submit your changes one day in advance to allow adequate time for the server to update. Most changes, however, are approved and updated within a few hours.

What are the Directory Listing Guidelines?: We currently accept only businesses located in Berkshire and all surrounding counties in Massachusetts. Nearby New York and Connecticut Counties are also welcome. Upon review, we will also accept certain businesses from outside the area that directly service local residents and/or businesses. Guidelines for content: We maintain strict policies concerning language and site content. Sites promoting illegal activities are not accepted. Keep it clean! ~ Explicit language is not accepted. Adult-only websites/businesses are not accepted. BBI reserves the right to cancel the listing of any site found violating our guidelines. No prior notice and no refund will be given if you submit an accepted website that later changes to a non-conforming site. Approval Process: If there are any problems with your your site, its content, description, etc. upon initial submission, we will contact you with details on the needed corrections prior to listing your site. You are responsible for spelling, grammar, etc. Please double-check your listing before submission. This is most important in regard to your contact email address and Website URL.

Is there a fee to update my listing?: No. BerkshireBusiness.Org employs a password-protected online Listing Management system. Once your account has been created, you may access it at anytime to update your contact information, display image, site title and business description.

Why do I have to add each listing category separately?: While it would be time-saver to allow our clients to choose multiple categories from a single account (which we may do at a future date), we felt it was a better option to allow our clients to customize their listings and descriptions individually for each chosen category. This would allow you to advertise items or services unique to each particular category your business is listed under. Each Listing will have its own account access information though! Please save and print your account information for each category so it is handy when you need it.

Do I need a website to list my business in the Berkshire Business Directory?: Yes (and no). Our system requires a website address for each Directory Listing. If you do not have a business website, we can create a simple one-page website for your business and host it on the BerkshireBusiness.Org web server (see the "add-on services" section at the top of the page). Once created, you will be able to list your business in the Directory and point visitors to your new webpage. You may also advertise your one-page site outside of the directory if you like. If you have a domain name (i.e., www.yourcompany.com) you may point that domain to your BerkshireBusiness.Org web address. Will my listing show up in search engine results?: In many cases, yes. BerkshireBusiness.Org updates each directory page regularly to help ensure proper search engine optimization for each category. In addition, we purchase pay-per-click listings for available search term categories from companies such as Overture and Enhance Interactive (which supply search results to many major search engines). In most cases we will bid our directory pages into the top three positions for a wide range of search terms. We work hard to bring in targeted traffic to your business listing - a great value for you!

I've noticed there are banner ads within the Business Directory. How do I purchase banner space?: We provide banner advertising space on a Directory-wide basis. This means that these banners appear on every category page within the directory. There is a single large banner on the top-right of each directory page. Mid-sized banner spaces are available along the right-hand column and micro-banner spaces are provided along the left-hand column. If you are interested in advertising in any of these areas, please contact our Ad Sales Deptartment: adsales@berkshirebusiness.org - You will be provided with our current ad space availability and rate card.

What types of visitors come to the Business Directory?: Our visitors are local consumers looking for products or services from local businesses and businesses looking for local B2B support, services, etc. BerkshireBusiness.Org is also welcoming the growing number of individuals and business replocating to the area and seeking information, as well as reaching out to a national and international clientele open to purchasing items or services from e-merchants operating locally.
